Rosacea

Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition characterized by redness and visible vascular lesions (blood vessels) in the face. Sometimes, redness persists for weeks to months before diminishing for a short period while other patients experience redness at all times.

Though it can affect anyone, most cases of rosacea occur in women with fair skin between the ages of twenty to fifty and the condition appears to worsen over time. More than 45-million Americans are affected by rosacea (2) today.

There is no cure for rosacea, but Midland Dermatology uses a combination of non-invasive laser and light therapy to diminish redness associated with the skin condition. Our laser targets red and purple pigments beneath the skin, reducing unwanted discoloration while safely sparing the surrounding area.
